Authored by Tania Nasir and Mary Tamari, this book beautifully captures native Palestinian Spring flowers. It contains images of each flower, cross-stitched patterns, and brief explanations. The motifs in this book can easily be replicated and stitched for one's own home.

For the authors, this book is a realized dream. A haunting and persistent dream laden with reflections and feelings of intimacy, identity, and a spiritual relationship with nature. Flower picking was a ritual they knew by heart. The process started when Marie (Tania's aunt) first studied the intricate details of the actual flower: its stalk, leaves, buds, and the full bloom. She then made a sketch of the layout of the panel and began to freely and directly embroider on the canvas.

As Marie embroidered, friends came to notice and admire these beautiful tapestries in "petit point" and became interested in obtaining them. Unfortunately, due to arthritis, Marie was forced to reduce, then ultimately stop, embroidering her tapestries. But the demand for them continued. People wanted these flowers, not only because they were objects of beauty in their own right, but also because they were symbolic expressions of aesthetic and cultural values related to identity and belonging. These were Spring flowers of the Palestinian landscape reproduced through the art of embroidery, itself an intrinsic part of Palestinian folk cultural heritage and beautifully used to adorn the traditional dresses of Palestinian women.

After the passing of years, Tania took concrete steps towards executing the book she had dreamed would encompass her aunt's flowers and embroidery. Thus, "Spring if Here" was born. The metamorphosis of the flower from nature to canvas, from soil to yarn, from the hands of God to that of a woman: a creative voyage from the depths of the Earth to a beautiful tapestry on the wall.
